Itinerary for Devi Darshan from Amritsar
Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar – Wagah Border & Golden Temple Visit

Upon arrival at Amritsar Airport or Railway Station, you will be received by our local representative, who will escort you to your hotel. Check-in and freshen up.

In the afternoon, proceed to the Wagah Border to witness the flag-lowering and retreat ceremony, a spectacular display of military tradition between the Border Security Force of India and the Pakistan Rangers.

On your return, visit the iconic Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism, beautifully lit at night.

Overnight stay at your hotel in Amritsar.


Day 2: Amritsar to Dalhousie via Pathankot

Morning: Explore Amritsar

Begin your day with a visit to Jallianwala Bagh, a historical site commemorating the tragic massacre of 1919.

Continue to the Durgiana Temple, often referred to as the Silver Temple, known for its striking resemblance to the Golden Temple and peaceful surroundings.

Midday: Drive to Dalhousie via Pathankot

Depart Amritsar for Dalhousie (approx. 200 km), passing through Pathankot.

Enjoy the scenic drive, especially the mesmerizing views of Ranjit Sagar Lake, as the landscape transforms into lush hills.

Arrive in Dalhousie, a charming hill station nestled at an altitude of 9,000 feet, known for its colonial architecture and tranquil ambiance. Check into your pre-booked hotel and relax.

Evening: Leisure Time in Dalhousie

Visit the Jandri Ghat Palace, a colonial-style bungalow surrounded by thick deodar and pine forests, once the residence of the rulers of Chamba.

On your way back, stop by Panchpulla, where streams from natural springs merge under five quaint bridges—a serene spot with a small waterfall.

You may take a refreshing walk along Thandi Sadak, a peaceful, tree-lined path ideal for enjoying the cool mountain air. Browse the Tibetan Market near Gandhi Chowk for local handicrafts, woolens, and souvenirs.

Optionally, you may take a stroll along The Mall, the central promenade of Dalhousie.

Day 3 : Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Dharamshala

Post Breakfast: Proceed to Khajjiar – “The Mini Switzerland of India”

After breakfast, head towards Khajjiar, famously known as “The Mini Switzerland of India.” Spend your time soaking in the beauty of the lush green meadows, framed by dense pine and cedar forests that create a truly magical landscape.

Explore Local Attractions in Khajjiar
Visit the ancient Khajji Nag Temple, dedicated to the serpent god, and take a short walk to the Pandav Tree, a remarkable deodar tree with six tall shoots symbolizing the five Pandava brothers and their common wife, Draupadi — a unique natural marvel steeped in mythology.

Afternoon Drive to Dharamshala via Jot Pass
Later in the afternoon, begin your scenic drive towards Dharamshala (Mcleodganj) via the picturesque Jot Pass. Enjoy the breathtaking views, the cool mountain breeze, and the verdant greenery scattered along the route — a perfect setting for capturing memories.

On arrival in Dharamshala (Mcleodganj), check in to your hotel and unwind after a fulfilling day. Enjoy a peaceful night’s rest in the lap of the Himalayas.

Day 4 : Dharamshala (Mcleodganj)
Sightseeing Tour – McLeodganj

We begin our sightseeing tour in McLeodganj, a charming town with a distinctly Tibetan character. Here, you'll be greeted by brightly painted buildings, fluttering prayer flags, serene Buddhist temples, and saffron-robed monks and nuns going about their daily routines.

Our first stop is the Tsuglagkhang (Cathedral), the main Buddhist temple in the area. Believed to resemble the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, it is surrounded by red and gold prayer wheels, which devotees spin to scatter prayers into the air.

Next, we visit the Bhagsu Nag Temple,  followed by a short walk to the scenic Bhagsu Waterfall, a perfect spot to soak in the natural beauty.

We then head to the serene Dal Lake, surrounded by deodar trees, and continue to the Naddi View Point, offering panoramic views of the Dhauladhar mountain range.

Our next stop is the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, built in 1860. Set amidst a dense forest, this neo-Gothic church is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows and peaceful ambiance.

In the evening, enjoy free time at Mall Road, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and sample Tibetan cuisine at the local cafés. Overnight stay at a hotel in McLeodganj.

Day 5 : Chamunda - Brajeshwari Devi Kangra - Bagla Mukhi - Jwala Ji

Morning:
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your spiritual journey by visiting the Chamunda Devi Temple. This revered temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, a fierce form of Goddess Durga symbolizing female power in Hindu mythology. The idol here is considered extremely sacred and is kept permanently hidden under a red cloth. Spend some peaceful moments seeking blessings from the Goddess.

Next Stop:
Proceed to the Kangra Devi Temple (Nagarkot Brajeshwari Temple) located in Kangra. This temple is known for its intricate architecture and rich spiritual rituals. The presiding deity is Brajeshwari Devi, also known as Vajrayogini, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati (Aadi Maya). Take your time to absorb the spiritual ambiance and offer prayers.

Afternoon:
Continue your pilgrimage with a visit to the Baglamukhi Temple, a significant Sidh Peetha known for its tantric importance and spiritual power.

Evening:
Drive to Jwala Mukhi, a temple town known for the eternal flame that burns from natural fissures in the rock. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and freshen up.

Later in the evening, attend the Shayan Aarti (night prayer) at the Mata JwalaMukhi Temple, a serene and spiritually enriching experience to end your day.



Day 6 : Chintpurni - Amb / Pathankot / Amritsar

Early Morning:
Begin your day with a serene early morning drive towards Chintpurni, which takes about 1 hour.

On Arrival at Chintpurni:
Visit the Garbha Griha and have darshan of Chintpurni Mata Ji. According to legend, the head of Devi Sati fell at this sacred site, making it one of the most important among the 51 Shakti Peeths.

The Goddess is worshipped in the form of a pindi (phallic representation) and is revered as Shri Chhinnamastika Devi, believed to take away the worries of her devotees. The name ‘Chhinnamastika’ translates to ‘the one without a head’.

Later Options:
Option 1 – Towards New Delhi:
Catch the Vande Bharat Express from Amb Andaura Station at 1:00 PM for your return journey to New Delhi.

Option 2 – Towards Pathankot / Amritsar :
Start your return drive towards Pathankot (approx. 3-hour drive) or Amritsar ( 5 Hours).
Upon arrival, you will be dropped at the Pathankot / Amritsar Railway Station. From here, you can return to your final destination.
